History / Summary
In 1918 the Australian government established the Seventh War Loan to raise money for the ongoing war. Councils and districts throughout Australia participated to raise the forty million the Treasury required. An Honour flag was given to areas that raised their allocation of the loan. Each bar on the flag represents 25 percent above the quota and with the star represents a doubling of the quota.
