Studio portrait of 1800 Lance Sergeant (L Sgt) George Henry Gallogly (right), 17th Battalion and an unknown friend identified on reverse as "Private (Pte) William Bennet(t), 2nd Battalion". L Sgt Gallogly, an auctioneer and motor driver from Gulgong NSW enlisted on 23 April 1915 and embarked from Sydney on 28 July 1915 on board HMAT A23 Suffolk. He was killed in action 15 April 1917and was buried an Noreuil Australian Cememtery. Pte Bennet or Bennett can not be positively identified.
