Pash, Roy Northway (L/Cpl, b.1895 - d.?)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 157 Lance Corporal Roy Northway Pash who served with 27 Battalion in France. The collection consists of a one page (double sided) typed letter from Joseph Brittain Pash, dated 9 January 1917, to his cousin Frederick Pash. The letter describes the visit of Frederick's son Roy, while on leave in England, to Joseph's family home at Chelmsford. It also comments on Roy's cheerful character, the spirit with which the war was being fought, and the state of agriculture in England. Shortly after returning from this leave, Roy was wounded in France and subsequently returned to Australia.
