82 page manuscript titled 'HMAS 'Hobart' 1941 and 1942'. Manuscript consists of transcribed diaries from Signalman Burnett while serving on HMAS Hobart between 1 January 1941 and 1 January 1943. Diary entries include comments on weather, equipment, uniform, actions aboard ship, other ships nearby, and actions in which Hobart was involved. Some of signalman Burnett's experiences of shore leave in Australia, New Zealand, Alexandria, and Haifa. Major actions described in the diary include the fall of Singapore, Battle of the Coral Sea, and the Battle of Savo Island.
