Australia hessian supply parachute for a Storepedo
Description
Hession supply parachute with integral green dyed hemp ropes and a maker's tag sewn to lower edge.
History / Summary
This style of Australian lightweight supply dropping parachute, 12 feet (3.66 m) diameter, was developed by mid 1944 for use with the modular storepedo, which was attached to the closed end of the tub. This conversion then allowed the storepedo to be dropped from a bomb rack.
