Description
This portrait of a servicewoman was drawn by Maurice Bramley, a painter for Associated Newspapers Ltd. This company produced the Sun Paper and periodicals such as Pix, Pocket Book and The World's News. Paintings of this type were generally drawn double size for clarity and then reduced for final presentation. Artists used water based paints called 'process black' and 'process white' to give a photographic appearance.
