Wallet 1 of 6 – Consists of 19 items including service documents, certificates, letters and telegrams relating to the service and promotions of Wing Commander Robertson, dated 1943 to 1965. Much of this correspondence relates to the award of Wing Commander Robertson’s Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). This wallet contains:

1x Letter written from the Secretary of the Department of Air to Mr Charles Victor Robertson, Melbourne, Victoria, dated 29 September 1943. In this letter he is informed of a copy of the citation regarding his son, Wing Commander Robertson’s award of the Air Force Cross.
1x Citation relating Wing Commander Robertson’s Bar to Air Force Cross, c 1943.
1x Letter written from the Chief of the Air staff to Wing Commander Robertson, Melbourne, Victoria, dated 12 June 1951. In this letter he is congratulated, and informed of the announcement of his Air Force Cross in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Wallet 2 of 6 – Consists of one fabric folder, titled ‘Performance’, comprising of training notes and documents relating to Wing Commander Robertson’s flight training in New South Wales and Victoria, dated 1946. Training notes include general introduction and notes on flying, performance equations, climbs, techniques, fuel consumption and cooling systems. This folder also contains typed lecture notes, data charts, illustrations and a glossary.

Wallet 3 of 6 – Consists of one flying log book, titled ‘Flying Log Book Nos 1 & 2’ [including associated item]. This log book contains entries dated between 25 June 1940 to 30 November 1947, and details Wing Commander Robertson’s training and service with training squadrons in Victoria and New South Wales. Entries record information such as dates and times of flights, aircraft types and numbers, certificates of qualifications, assessments and purposes of flights. Purposes of flights include training in gunnery, formation flying, acrobatics, bombing, cross country, precautionary and forced landings. Within this logbook is one photograph of a CAC Wirraway training aircraft, c 1941.

Wallet 4 of 6 – Consists of one flying log book titled ‘Flying Log Book Nos 3 & 4’ [including associated item]. This log book contains entries dated from 14 January 1948 to 2 July 1958, and details Wing Commander Robertson’s testing and service with Aircraft Research and Development Units in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. Entries record information such as dates and times of flights, aircraft types and numbers, certificates of qualifications, records of tours and purposes of flights. Purposes of flights include strikes, gunnery and bombing, circuits, food drops, testing, surveying land and familiarisation. Within this logbook is one piece of paper containing a list of names, [date unknown].

Wallet 5 of 6 – Consists one flying log book titled ‘Flying Log Book no 5, K V Robertson’. This log book contains entries dated from 6 July 1958 to 22 November 1963, and details Wing Commander Robertson’s service with No15 Army Light Aircraft Squadron in Victoria and New South Wales. Entries record information such as dates and times of flights, aircraft types and numbers, certificates of service, half yearly return of flying hour’s records and purposes of flights. Purposes of flights include helicopter utilities, operation ‘Welcome Home’, aerobatics, forced landings, night circuits, food drops, testing, surveying land and familiarisation.

Wallet 6 of 6 – Consists of one flying log book [including associated items]. This log book contains entries dated from 10 April 1964 to 14 November 1970, and details Wing Commander Robertson’s service in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. Entries record information such as dates and times of solo flights, aircraft types and numbers, records of service and purposes of flights. Purposes of flights include instruction, photographic, commercial tests, circuits, cross country and familiarisation. This log book also includes a list of names and numbers, two documents relating to hearing tests, one certificate for flight clearance, three Schutt Aircraft Flying Academy cheques and one Flight Crew License issued to Wing Commander Robertson.
