Australian bushmen at the front- Steeplechasing on the Veldt
Description
The description reads, 'This Picture helps us understand the indomitable sporting instinct of the Australian bushman. When he was camping at Pienaar's River he used to indulge in hurdle-racing, as shown in the accompanying picture, which has been taken from a photograph.' This photogravure after a sketch by William Wollen, which was done from a photograph, was printed in the newspaper 'The Sphere' in 1901.
