Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of VX55419 Lieutenant William Richards Lumley AM. Consists of a six page typewritten memoir titled "Some memories of my service with the 16th Field Regiment, January 1942 to June 1944' written by Lt Lumley. Describes Lumley's service within Australia with the 16th Field Regiment from the time it was formed in January 1942 until his resignation from the AIF in June 1944. Lumley joined the Royal Australian Air Force on 15 June 1944 and continued to serve with the RAAF until discharge in August 1945.
