Collection relating to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor (UNMISET), and United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) service of 2480 Sergeant Steven Mark Walsh, Australian Federal Police, 1994-1995, 2004, 2007.

Wallet 1 of 2 - Consists of three folders containing identification cards, documents, letters, and drawings related to Walsh's deployment as a member of the Australian Civilian Police contingent with UNFICYP from 1994 to 1995. The wallet includes Walsh's UNFICYP identification card, meal card and driver's permit, a list of command call signs, a receipt and bank record of transactions, and a translation card of common words. The collection also includes six letters and 15 paintings and drawings to Walsh from his wife and two daughters. The letters contain updates and news from home and discusses the difficulties of adjusting to his absence.

Wallet 2 of 2 - Consists of three folders containing one bound diary, identification cards, and one printed diary. The blue covered bound diary in folder 1 was maintained by Walsh between 14 May and 19 November 2004, covering his time as part of the Australian contingent to UNMISET. He writes of his arrival in Timor Leste, his initial impressions of Dili and the Timorese people, his accommodation and the local living conditions, recreation, food, and his interactions with Australian military personnel and members of other national contingents. The diary ends with a reflection on Walsh's time in Timor Leste. The wallet also includes Walsh's identification card and driver's permit from his deployment with UNMIS, as well as typed diary he maintained from 9 February to 21 September 2007 during the deployment. The diary contains irregular entries but charts Walsh's arrival in Khartoum, his surprise appointment as UN Chief of Driver Training for the mission, his interactions with other UN personnel and local peoples, his accommodation and living conditions, his work training and designing training areas, recreational activities such as soccer, and his return home. Walsh also ends his UNMIS diary with a reflection on the deployment and comparisons between his experiences in Australia, Cyprus, Timor Leste, and Sudan.
