Letters from Francis James Burton to his Family, 1914-1917
Photostat copies of letters relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Francis James Burton, 4th Light Horse Regiment. The original letters were written between 27 September 1914 and 10 October 1917. In the letters, Francis Burton describes his training in Egypt, the incessant artillery bombardment at Gallipoli and praises the work of the Red Cross. The photostat copies were made by the Australian War Memorial in 1928.
