Informal portrait of VX39343 Lieutenant (Lt) John Henry Walsh, DCM, 2/2 Convalescent Depot. Lt Walsh had served in the First World War and enlisted for service in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force on 11 January 1941. During the fall of Singapore, Lt Walsh was captured by the Japanese forces and was taken prisoner of war. He returned to Australia and was discharged on 26 November 1945.
