Hat badge: Third NSW Volunteer Infantry Regiment
Description
The badge design is the shield of NSW containing the Southern Cross and surmounted by the numeral '3' in the centre of a five pointed Rising Sun. On each side of the shield is a waratah bloom with the words 'AMOR' and 'PATRIE' (Love of country) contained within scrolls. At the base a banner inscribed 'N.S.W. INFANTRY'. The reverse has two lugs for securing the badge.
