Informal portrait of Sister Hutt, of the Australian Nursing Service, holding a fan, and stoker P O Leader on board HMAS Huon. Hanging behind them is a white ensign, one of the silk flags that were presented to the ship. The destroyer was undergoing repairs after a collision with HMAS Yarra on 8 August. While in Genoa the crew was ravaged by an influenza epidemic; five men died.
