Informal portrait of Kapitänleutnant Edmund Schafer and Fritz Erka, both Prisoners of War (POWs). Kapitänleutnant Schaffer was captured north off the coast of Western Australia on 25 November 1941. He remained a POW in Australia until he was repatriated to Germany in January 1947.
