'Ho Chi Minh' truck tyre sandals : 247 Viet Cong Regiment
Description
Pair of rubber sandals hand-made from car or truck tyres. The sole of each sandal is cut from an oval-shaped section of tyre, with the tread side downwards. Almost none of the original tread remains. The inner sole is formed by the fabric belts of the tyre. There are six straps on each sandal, made from sections of rubber inner tube threaded through slots in the soles. The four front straps cross over the fore foot while the two at the rear hold the ankle.
