History / Summary
Associated with Lieutenant Colonel Robert Gartside, commanding officer of 8 Battalion, AIF. He was killed in action, at the age of 52, at Cape Helles, on 8 May 1915. He had previously served in the Boer War with the 3rd Victorian Bushmen's Contingent and had been severely wounded at Wulve Hill.
