Imperial German Artillery Officer's Sword and Scabbard
Description
Imperial German Artillery Officer's sword and scabbard. The gilt nickel steel hilt is a P stirrup type with a lions head backstrap pommel and has crossed cannon on the langet. The grips are black bakelite bound with silver and gilt brass wire. The slightly curved blade has a single fuller on each side to within 210 mm from the double edge spear point.The ricasso has the trade mark of a squirel over CE. The nickel plated scabbard is worn and has rust spots near the hanger ring band and the chape.
