History / Summary
Bert Spearey was born in England in 1887, but was living in Australia when the First World War began. He enlisted in the AIF in 1916, becoming Private 5751 in 25 Infantry Battalion, with whom he served for the duration of the war on the Western Front. He returned to Australia in December 1918, and served again in the Militia forces during the Second World War. This shaving mirror was carried in the breast pocket of Spearey's service dress tunic throughout his service.
