Group portrait of prisoners of war (POW) in the Submarine Turquoise Mess of the POW camp at Belemedick, Turkey. The French submarine Turquoise was sunk in the Dardanelles off Nagara Point on 30 October 1915 and her crew held as POWs. Written on the wall behind them is “14 Juillet 1918” (14 July, French Independence Day).
