Silver trophy : International Tug of War, London, December 1918
Description
Sterling silver trophy cup with curved handles. Engraved on the trophy is 'INTERNATIONAL TUG OF WAR/ LONDON/ 26th December 1918./ WON BY/ AUSTRALIA.' The trophy cup bears the 1914 hallmark of Walker & Hall of Sheffield. Under the base of the trophy is the makers mark and the inscription '53865/ WALKER&HALL/ SHEFFIELD/ ENGLAND/ 52'. The number '5750' is impressed in the bottom rim. There are dents in several places around the cup.
