Invasion force at Lingayen Gulf
Description
Featured are HMAS Kanimbla, Manoora, and Westralia, landing ships bringing infantry arriving in Lingayen Gulf prior to the Allied invasion at Lingayen Gulf, Luzon, Philippines. On 5 January, 1945, HMAS Australia (though not pictured in this painting) was damaged by Kamikaze aircraft while Australian ships were operating in support of United States amphibious landings in the Lingayen Gulf.
