Maintenancing Matildas, 2
Description
One of set of three studies of Armoured Fighting Vehicle fitters doing maintenance work on a Matilda Mark IV tank.
A view of a Maltilda Mark IV tank of the 2/9 Australian Armoured Regiment shown with the engine louvers raised. Two smoke shell discharge brackets can be seen on the side of the turret. The gun is a quick firing 2-pounder and that on the tank on the right is a 3 inch Howitzer. In the foreground is 'Joanie', a Chevrolet C15A, 15 CWT 4x4 truck with a framework for carrying the gantry.
