From the Observation Post
Description
Looking down from an Observation Post onto the many regular activities of a camp. The Officers' Mess is the long building, centre back, with the kitchen at the rear. Two lads are drawing water from a local-pattern well, consisting of two 44-gallon drums sunk to a suitable depth. There are a number of these wells in the area as the camp is situated on a sandy peninsular between Tagessi River and Empress Augusta Bay. In the immediate foreground are the tents of the transport lines.
