Description

Tableland farmers who had worked hard and grown rich during the war years, looked with a shrewd eye on abandoned army buildings of doubtful value, and bidding was not high. Occasionally a large recreation hut with a sound timber floor would fetch a good price. Despite the cleverness of a stout and cheerful auctioneer, most of the small buildings only fetched a small price, Atherton Tablelands, Queensland.
