Description
Seven officers are shown celebrating peace in the No 1 Tactical Air Force Headquarters, Balikpapan, Borneo. The participants are left to right: Wing Commander K Ranger, Flight Lieutenant L A Booth, Flight Lieutenant C Coutts, Squadron Leader P G Richens, Squadron Leader J E McCale, Lieutenant D Friend (the artist) and Squadron Leader S F Hickson. Balikpapan in Borneo in the Netherlands East Indies is now known as the Kalimantan province of Indonesia.
