Control room
Description
Depicts the control room at Point Cook with radio receiving and transmitting sets. Remarks: WW1 served with AIF in France. WW2 official war artist from 30 Apr 1945 to 24 Jan 1946. Artist's file description 'In front of the hangars at Point Cook this control houses apparatus controlling arrival and departure of aeroplanes. Three receiving and transmitting sets control at one time three different types of planes generally Tiger Moths, Oxfords and Wirraways. The highly technical nature of the work involved can be gauged by the diagrammatic nature of the board showing discs for each plane in operation '. Ward letter of 1 June 1945 is evidence that work had been received by June 1945.
