Flare path
Description
This was painted with a view to recording the beginning of a night landing. Of all actions in aircraft, landing may be regarded as priority No. 1, as in this the airman takes the greatest pride. The machine with its reduced speed and its flaps down, has commenced its run in with port wing down and on it's way through the 90 degrees turn into and down on to the flare path runway. Illuminated meter dials in the blacked-out cockpit convey the large extent and nature of the airman's reliance on science, Point Cook, Victoria.
