Chee Yuen Chung
Description
A 19 year old Chinese taken by the Japanese from Rabaul, eventually, to Hansa Bay. When the 4th Australian Infantry Battalion arrived and picked up the Chinese, Chee Yuen Chung was able to give much valuable information. The writing on the sketch was done by the lad and means "under the iron paws of the Japanese, more dead than alive, we realise there is happiness ahead now that we have been rescued by the Australian soldiers. My little brother and I am very grateful."
