Hurricanes scramble, Greenwood
Description
A detachment from No.1 Operational Training Unit stationed at Greenwood, Nova Scotia, training under the Empire Air Training Scheme. Hawker Hurricane aircraft taking off from airfield in 'scramble' exercise. A 'scramble' takes place when an order is given to get into the air as soon as possible and all pilots concerned rush to their planes, irrespective of any order, and get airborne with all possible speed.
