Disembarkation at Toko
Description
A frequent scene ay Toko during the Second World War; men, equipment and stores are hurriedly disembarked and the stores hastily stacked all ready to be carried on to the forward areas within half an hour. The pile of boxes are from a previous barge; from the present one come men with all their personal gear. Some have already dumped their equipment, consisting of packs with a blanket rolled in ground sheet tied to the outside, as well as rifles, kerosene lamps and miscellaneous bundles. Some men are shown enjoying a mug of tea from the 'booster' whilst others are adding their packs to the dumps. A few stragglers linger on the ramp. The 'Dora', a supply ship, is out at sea.
