Australian troops aboard HMT Felix Roussel, sit up on deck and watch as they approach the African coastline. Dargie noted, "With the first glimpse of land everyone is on deck. To troops so long accustomed to the comparatively treeless lands of the Middle East, there was something exhilarating in the sight of the rich green woods of Mombasa". During the voyage to Australia of HMT "Felix Roussel" a Free French ship which in company of the US ship "Holbrook" and the Australian ship "Duntroon" bought back from the Middle East, Australian troops and nurses.
