Description
Depicts a portrait of VX21239 Captain Allan West, Area Commandant and Rocky Creek; 2/3 Australian Machine Gun Battalion, seen here at the 2/2nd Australian General Hospital undergoing treatment for malaria. Captain West was posted to 2/3 Australian Machine Gun Battalion but fate decreed that he was not with the unit when it was captured in Java.
