Section of the Camp, El Gazala
Description
After living in flat country for weeks, to camp on the edge of a big wadi (creek) was a welcome change. The wadi runs roughly West by North-west joining the sea at Gazala Bay. The landing ground is to the right and out of picture. In the foreground are the stores tent and tender. In the centre distance, the mobile workshops with two aircraft under repair. Three Tomahawks have just taken off. Rain squalls provided much needed water for washing. The camp is occupied by No.3 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, El Gazala, Libya.
