Description
One of five trucks carrying members of the 2/33rd Battalion and the 158th General Transport Company which was destroyed when a B-24D Liberator Bomber (serial Number 42-40682) 'Pride of the Cornhuskers' crashed into the marshalling park near Jackson's Airfield on the 7th of September 1943. Sixty two Australians and eleven American aircrew died in the accident.
