Viet Cong receiving treatment, 2nd Field Ambulance, Vung Tau, Vietnam
Description
Viet Cong patient receiving treatment in hospital, April 1967, with the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, 2nd Field Ambulance in Vung Tau. There is a mosquito net above the bed and a glass (Soluvac) intravenous fluid bottle on a pole at the head of the bed. Serum and the Soluvac was the Australian approach to whole blood substitutes and blood transfusion during the Second World War and also in Vietnam.
