Stretcher party moving over a landslide
Description
NX87474 Sergeant Newman was among a party who were ambushed, four being wounded. An armed party from "C"Coy at Daumoina, 57/60th Australian Infantry Battalion set off into enemy territory to bring in the wounded. The wounded were brought back during the night which was very hazardous trying to walk around the landslides with sometimes sheer slopes into the ravines below.
