Camels unloading at Beersheba
Description
Camels unloading after arrival in Beersheba. From this point the condition of the roads improves so much that it was possible to dispense with much of the camel transport and to utilise motor trucks and horse-drawn vehicles in its stead. This is fourth in a series of eight paintings accompanying the Palestine dioramas. The series illustrates the Egyptian Labour Corps and the Camel Transport Corps transporting supplies (food, water, clothing and medical supplies) from Deir el Belah on the Mediterranean coast of Palestine through the desert to the troops in battle.
