Assault training
Description
Townsville, Queensland, 8-9 June 1942. A platoon on an assault course to toughen them up for defence of 5 Australian Division HQ. After fording a river the troops are confronted with a series of obstacles including narrow log bridges, trip wires, trenches, barbed-wire etc. During the operation gun powder and gelignite are exploded to simulate artilley fire.
