Landing Ship Tank (LSTs) beaching and unloading; directed by RANVR Sub Lieutenant. On beach with two-way radiophone. General shots of military traffic on the Vasey Highway and three aerial shots. Wreckage of buildings, houses and oil field equipment. Salvation Army (with a "hop-in" sign) serving tea to troops. Natives repairing road. War graves.
Identified personnel are: Leading Aircraftman John James Ryan of 11 Repair and Salvage Unit (Royal Australian Air Force) with his parrot 'Patrick' drinking out of his cup.
