Dawe's Creek crossing action
Description
Men of the 24th Australian Infantry Battalion supported by tanks of the 2/4th Australian Armoured Regiment, as they bridge the Dawe's Creek and on the road to Anderson's Junction during the campaign in Southern Bougainville. Natives assist in the building of a Corduroy Road and the troops are kept in supplies by aircraft dropping stores by parachute. Also the wounded being given blood transfusions on the side of a jungle track and Japanese mass graves.
