Description
Movietone News item using Department of Information material. It covers the embarkation of United States troops at Milne Bay for the occupation of Kiriwina Island; at sea; and the landing at Kiriwina. The operation was given air cover by No. 77 Squadron and No. 6 Squadron RAAF. There is also a sequence dealing with ANGAU showing a district officer and a patrol officer with native police.
