Four Australian army nurses, eleven Australian civilian nurses and one Red Cross worker in Manila on way back to Australia. They were captured at Rabaul, New Britain, held ther for six months at a German Mission then taken to Japan. From July 1942 to July 1944 they were held at Yokohama Yacht Club, then for a year at Totsuka. Identified personnel: Lieutenant D C Keast, Captain K I A Parker, Lieutenant L M Whyte, Lieutenant M C Cullen, (all AANS), Major G B Massingham of 3 Australian Prisoner of War Reception Group.
