Umamu creek advance along Buin Road, Bougainville
Description
Squadron of the 2/4th Armoured Regiment, advance along the Buin Road following airstrikes by RNZAF and RAAF strafing along the axis of the road. Artillery and mortars supported the advance. Men of the 15th Australian Field Company RAE, building a tank ford across creek bed and building and launching an Australian Panel Bridge across the Puriata River.
