Description
Kokoda Trail, 8 October 1942. Scenes during the advance of Australian forces over ground just evacuated by the Japanese. Australians examine Japanese 75 mm mountain gun and ammunition. Bringing up 25 pounder artillery one inch at a time with man power and block and tackle. 2115661 (NX18229) Lieutenant John Alfred Gilchrist gives encouragement to the men.
