Finisterre Ranges
Description
25-Pounder guns fire on Japanese positions in the Finisterre Ranges in support of Australian troops. Papuan Infantry Battalion resting in the Ramu Valley after playing their part in the famous drive against the Japanese along the Markham and Ramu valleys. Papuan Infantry practice on Bren gun, on parade and general shots of their day of rest. Identified personnel: 1914-1918 war veteran SX4083 Corporal Frank J.P. Lundie 2/27 Battalion cleaning his Owen gun, war grave of NX128074 Pte Hannan R.C. 61101 12 October written on grave marker.
