[Typhoons and Mitchells] (2401/CBS 49) Wurzburg (Ops 270)
Description
This film comprises three distinct items. The first features Hawker Typhoon fighters of an unidentified RAF Squadron in attacks on German positions with rocket projectiles and 20mm cannon fire. The second is of B-25 Mitchell bombers of Nos 98, 180 and 320 (Dutch) Squadrons of the 2nd Tactical Airforce RAF bombing railway lines and marshalling yards. The third is Bomber Command Operational film No 270 of the attack on Wurzburg, Germany on the night of the 16-17 March 1945. Bomb explosions, incendaries and anti-aircraft flak can be seen.
