Description
Airstrip construction at Noemfoor Island showing No 62 Works Wing RAAF bulldozers and graders in operation. Local workers moving prefabricated metal airfield pieces. Airfield construction airmen throwing rocks on to the back of truck. Salvation Army tea van dispensing tea to workers. B-25 Mitchell bombers buzz the airfield. The arrival of Field Marshal Sir Thomas Blamey. Continuation of airfield construction scenes. Men lined up at RAAF post Office No. 73 to collect mail. Shot of 61 Operational Base Unit sign. Shot of sign for 11 RSU Mess. RAAF engineers looking for Japanese booby traps. They discover an improvised mine which is an upright bomb buried up to the detonator.
