Search in the "Never Never"
Description
Search for an American B-24 Liberator bomber which disappeared on a flight from Darwin to Brisbane in 1945. In August/September 1967 a RAAF search party covered more than one thousand miles in a week searching, unsucessfully for the bomber. The RAAF party was led by Group Captain Keith Rundle, an expert in this field, who was called from retirement in an effort to clear up the mystery. The RAAF party started the search from Roper Bar police station, guided by Aboriginal police tracker Roy Roy and a Northern Territory Police Constable Ian Evans.
