Navigation exercise
Description
Fifty-one members of the RAAF School of Air Navigation, East Sale, Victoria, fly to New Zealand in five Dakota aircraft via Amberley in Queensland and Norfolk Island, as part of the training of No. 19 Advanced Course in the use of the gyro-grid technique which is often used near the Poles where magnetic compasses are unreliable. Also shows RNZAF Canberra bombers.
